Considered one of the best short treks in Nepal, it is a relatively easy hike traversing through picturesque Gurung villages, rhododendron forests and breathtaking, panoramic views of the massive Himalayas.
A medley of Nepalese beauty awaits you on this journey through sub-tropical valleys, paved stone staircases and twittering bird sounds in the dense forests. The actual trek begins after a short drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, from where the trail follows a river, often rising to the terraced villages along the ridges. Passing through dense forests of rhododendron, oak and maple, and the steep stone staircases, the path treads on to traditional villages with majestic views of the iconic Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche, and Hiunchuli mountain peaks.

After Breakfast: Visit UNESCO world heritage sites. You will visit the most revered and holy Hindu temple complex of Pashupatinath, the prominent monkey temple, Swayambhunath, one of the largest stupas in the world – a Buddhist shrine at Bouddhanath, and the captivating Basantapur Durbar Square. In the late afternoon, you will visit our office site to make necessary preparations, and meet your trip leader, crew members, and other fellow accomplices. You will have a brief discussion about the forthcoming trip and return to your hotel room
After Breakfast: Drive to Pokhara (200 km – 7 hrs). During route you can visit Manakamana Temple by Cable Car which cost is addition and paid directly at the station. This ride gives breathtaking views of Hills, Mountains river and small farms and village.
After Breakfast: you will drive along a zigzag route that leads you to Nayapul, which is the starting point of your trek. The initial hike through sub-tropical jungle leads you to a large and flourishing riverside village, Birethanti that lies at the convergence of the Modi and Bhurungdi Rivers. Crossing the latter river after lunch through a bridge, and hiking up to Sudame along the off-road, you will do a gradual climb up to Tikhedhunga. Crossing another metal suspension bridge and making a steep ascent along thousand of tiring staircases and boulders will land you in the village of Ulleri. From here you get terrific views of the landscape of valley floor which you traversed during the daytime, with astonishing views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. Overnight in Ulleri.
After breakfast, it’s time to leave behind the large Magar village, Ulleri and begin the scenic ascend towards Ghorepani, a fascinating stop with small shops and stalls that sell local products and crafts. Climbing gently through fine forests of oak, rhododendron, and magnolia, and occasionally grey langur monkeys leaping over branches, you will reach Banthanti. Moving ahead from this tiny village for a short while, you will reach Nangethanti. The panoramic views will certainly give you the much- needed energy to continue with your ascent. After another hour of walking and several breaks, you will reach Ghorepani, a village that offers stunning views of the Annapurna South and Nilgiri Mountain peaks. It is here that you will begin to feel the chilled weather, as this village rests quite higher than our previous places. Overnight in Ghorepani.
Today is marked as the highlight of your trip as you will be kicking off with a pre-dawn, roughly-an- hour climb along the steep trail through rhododendron forests leading up to the grassy top of Poon Hill. The viewpoint of Poon Hill is the most popular trekking destination within the Annapurna region, where you can enjoy tantalizing views of Mustang, Pokhara and more than 20 of the highest mountains including close-up views of Dhaulagiri I, Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre and Manaslu. The unobstructed and illuminated sunrise view over the Himalayas and far western ranges of Dolpo is the most mesmerizing moment for you today. After a photographic delight and a hot beverage, you will descend to Ghorepani for breakfast and then trek to Tadapani. The trail in this segment is mostly hilly meandering through forests and village farmlands, scenic waterfalls and steep rivers with melted water from the glaciers above. Descending finally through rhododendron forests, you will reach Tadapani with your legs feel the stretch. Overnight in Tadapani.
After an epic hiking day, today is a relatively easy but a steep downhill trek through dense and dark forests. As you descend, the scenic views of wildflowers and splendid views of mountains are visible almost throughout the day. The trail eases as you approach nearer to Ghandruk, a slope settlement comprising of the stone house and mostly inhabited by the Gurung community. From this village, you will again be able to savor the mesmerizing beauty of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli peaks. While at the village, you will also make a brief visit to the Gurung Museum that creates an opportunity to learn more about the unique culture and rich cultural traditions of the Gurung people. Overnight in Ghandruk.
Today we will leave the picturesque village of Ghandruk after a sumptuous breakfast gently descending through Syauli Bazaar on the Modi Khola. From here, the trail along the river is on a leveled earth crossing terraced farms and staircases paved with stone slabs till Birethanti with scenic mountain views and landscapes. From Birethanti, an easy walk for about half an hour brings you to Nayapul, where your journey on foot comes to an end. One hour drive from Nayapul will lead you to the lake city of Pokhara. On arrival at Pokhara, you will be transferred to your hotel room, where you may stretch your legs and relax in leisure or may take a stroll in the lakeside or indulge yourself in the very common boating at Phewa Lake. Overnight in Pokhara.
After Breakfast – Half day sightseeing to David’s fall and Gupteshwar Mahadev Cave and International Mountain Museum. Drive to Phewa Lake and enjoy boat ride & relax your rest of the day
After Breakfast: Drive to Kathmandu and it takes 7 hours to reach. En route, you will be able to see the hilly landscape with the River experience. Overnight in Kathmandu.
We will drop you off at the Tribhuvan International Airport well ahead of your scheduled flight for your onward journey. You will be flying back home with ample memories of the experiences you’ve had in the Himalayas.
